A defense for seeds in a hostile environment
Barely in the earth, seeds already face a host of enemies. With a protective coating, however, they can withstand any attack and germinate freely.
A fungicidal dressing agent acts like armor. In the delicate phase between sowing and germination, it protects the seeds against the most varied dangers including attacks by common fungi like pythium, rhizoctonia and phytophthora don’t have a chance then. The seed coating can only work reliably, however, if the dressing agent has been optimally applied to the seeds.
Seeds face a hostile environment
Our AgroSolutions experts have developed two inert systems which ensure
perfect coating. The dressing agent binds the active ingredient without
sticking, so that the active ingredient remains fully effective for a
long time. The coating has no phytotoxic effect, of course. It doesn’t
dust off once it has dried and sticks to the seed even when stored for
a long time. Last but not least, it prevents moisture from penetrating
the treated seeds during storage. Only after sowing do they absorb
water from the soil.
Cognis AgroSolutions supplies all of the components in outstanding quality, required for formulating seed coatings. They are available separately or as tailored blends. Dressed in this way, the seed can germinate successfully. Since the plant is already strengthened by the coating as a seed, it is also more resistant during the entire growth phase and does not need to be treated with as much plant protection product during this period.
